Attorney: Brother of teen killed in smoke shop shooting facing charges in separate shooting at his vigil
A 16-year-old is dead and his brother is behind bars after two shootings at the same smoke shop within 24 hours of each other. Two shootings occurred at the same smoke shop within 24 hours of each other, leaving a 16-year-old dead and his brother, Isaiah Johnson, facing charges related to the first incident. The first shooting left a teenager dead at the shop, but this was just the first time police found Johnson dead. The second incident involved a group of people trying to break into the store. A fight broke out outside the vigil for Johnson, leading to a 20-year old woman being shot in the chest. The police chief expressed frustration over the incidents, stating they cannot turn one tragedy into another tragedy. Isaiah Johnson is being charged with felony assault. The brother of the victim is also being held accountable for the second shooting.

TWO SHOOTINGS AT THE SAME SMOKE SHOP WITHIN 24 HOURS OF EACH OTHER. TODAY, WE ARE LEARNING THAT THE FIRST OF THESE TWO SHOOTINGS LEFT A TEENAGER DEAD. THE CORONER IDENTIFIED THE TEENAGER KILLED AT THE VIP SMOKE SHOP AS 16 YEAR OLD TRAVIS JOHNSON. NOW, POLICE SAY A GROUP OF PEOPLE WERE TRYING TO BREAK INTO THE STORE JUST BEFORE 2 A.M. FRIDAY. AND A WORKER SHOT AT THEM WHILE THE OTHER SUSPECTS TOOK OFF. POLICE FOUND JOHNSON DEAD AT THE SCENE, BUT THAT WAS JUST THE FIRST SHOOTING INCIDENT TO STRIKE THAT LOCATION FRIDAY. NO WORD ON HER CONDITION. A SHORT TIME LATER, CINCINNATI POLICE RESPONDED TO A SWAT STANDOFF AT A HOME ON MCPHERSON AVENUE IN EAST PRICE HILL. AND THAT’S WHERE POLICE TOOK A SUSPECT IN THAT SECOND SHOOTING. 20 YEAR OLD ISAIAH JOHNSON, INTO CUSTODY. While the other suspects took off, police found Johnson dead at the scene.That was just the first shooting incident to strike that location Friday. That night a vigil was held for Johnson outside of the smoke shop.Police said at that vigil a fight broke out and around 10:30 p.m., a 20-year-old woman was shot in the chest.While a suspect fled the scene, police said the victim was driven a short distance away and from there she was rushed to the hospital.
