Auburn fires basketball GM—formerly of Louisville—for hiding academic info on international commit
Quite the slip-up for Brian Kloman and Auburn basketball, who now lose a prized international addition right before the regular season. Auburn has fired its general manager, Brian Kloman, for hiding academic information on an international commitment the Tigers had been trying to get eligible for the upcoming season. The revelation led to the termination of Mantas Rubstavicius, who previously took college courses in Lithuania before starting his professional career, complicating his eligibility amid his ongoing court battle with the NCAA. Kloman's knowledge of Rubstivicius' academic situation was uncovered by attorneys during the legal process. This discovery led Auburn to part ways with Kloman and Rubstovicius to return to Europe. Prior to his time at Auburn, Kloman had helped construct Louisville's roster over the past two seasons and had been by Pat Kelsey's side for 11 years.
